Beautiful Mistake Page 10

“Sage?” I begged. “It’s nearly five in the morning, Los Angeles time. I promise … I’ll give you lots of lovin’ tomorrow.” I closed my eyes as his mouth traveled upward.

“It’s okay, baby. I’m just giving you your goodnight kiss,” he said as he kissed my pussy tenderly.

“Oh, my God,” I whispered as his tongue gently stroked my sensitive skin and dove in and out of my vagina.

Before long, my belly was swirling in knots and my insides were winding up like an old toy you turned with a key. I started to whine and pant as his tongue worked faster and faster. My hands grabbed hair in an effort to slow his pace before … I …

“Ahh … my God, my God … Sage!”

It was all I could take.

With my hand grasped in his hair, holding him to me, I came in his mouth, exploding with a powerful orgasm. I hadn’t cum so much in my entire life. In the course of the week that Sage and I had been having sex with each other, I’d had so many mind splintering climaxes I was starting to unravel. As soon as he pulled his tongue out of my pussy and swallowed, I was a floppy mess of spent skin and flesh.

“Wow,” was the only word my body could make.

“Good night,” he said as he kissed me, and I tasted myself on his lips.

His hands were working hard on his erection, and while I had absolutely no energy at all, I didn’t want to leave him in the lurch.

“You want me to help you with that?” I asked, my eyes at half-mast.

“Tomorrow.” He kissed my forehead as I heard him pump into his hand, slapping harder and harder until I felt a warm splash on my belly.

At least he wasn’t going to bed needy.

“Ah …” he groaned as another shot coated my belly.

When he’d pumped out all his cum onto my stomach, he flopped next to me and snuggled in. Soon after I felt a dry tissue wipe me clean.

“Thank you for everything, you’re amazing …” I trailed off before sleep claimed me.

I thought I heard him say he loved me before sleep stole me away, but I wasn’t sure.

  Chapter 13

  Sage

Having Melody in New York was better than I thought it ever would be. I knew we’d have fun together, but I seriously never thought we’d be having this much fun. The party was a blast, and putting down another YouTube track was cool; it would do both of our careers some good. Strange we were making it big online with an ancient weird Christmas Carol no one ever sung … but whatever. I was loving it. I really tired her out, and even though I wanted to end the first night with a monumental fuck, I also realized the poor woman needed her sleep. After she fell asleep in my arms, I wiggled away from her, got a wet washcloth from the bathroom and cleaned up the rest of the spunk I’d left on her belly.

She only moved a little at the feel of the warm cloth on her skin. She was so sweet when she slept. I realized I was falling hard for her, but still, the thought of it scared me so. I fell asleep next to her and enjoyed our moments together.

The next morning I woke up, and as always, I was insatiable for her. All we had scheduled for the day was the gala at the Metropolitan Opera, so I planned to show her Christmas in Midtown and Central Park; we had the morning to ourselves.

We had both thrown off the covers because the heating in the room was up too high, so we laid there together naked and flushed. My morning wood was stabbing out between us.

“Good morning,” she purred as she slithered down my body and got to work on my cock.

I loved the feel of her mouth on me, so sensual and beautiful.

“Well, good morning to you,” I said as I laid back and let her do her thing.

Usually, I didn’t let her go down on me till the finish, but we had a lot to do this morning and a long night ahead. I was down for a little BJ and breakfast. She sucked, pumped, and nibbled until my balls crawled up into my belly and I knew I was about to blow.

“You’re doing a great job down there, but unless you want a little lovin’ for breakfast, I’m about there so …” and I was done.

She took me deep into her throat, and I couldn’t hold back anymore. I came into her beautiful mouth as she sucked me dry. God, it felt so amazing, my head started spinning, and I had to close my eyes as I shivered out the last drops.

“Shit, you’re good at that. Who knew?” I said with my eyes closed as she came back up to the pillow.

“Figured I owed you one,” she said with a funny twang.

“You didn’t owe me anything, but that sure was nice.” I opened my eyes and scooped her into a hug. “What would you like this morning, my dear?” I kissed her cute little nose.

“Seriously? A shower and breakfast,” She gave me an embarrassed smile.

“Shower and breakfast it is … then Christmas!” I said with a flourish.

“Oh please, no more gifts,” she begged looking really concerned.

“No, we’re going to visit Christmas and no more gifts, I promise.” With that, we hit the showers and got ready for our day.

We were comfortable like it had always been this way between us; fun, artistic, peaceful. We had breakfast in the hotel, which was one of the most expensive in New York. She wasn’t so much impressed with the price as she thought I’d spent way too much on the whole weekend, but she was impressed with the view. The tall Manhattan skyscrapers surrounded us, which gave the place a weird urban fantasy sort of vibe. After breakfast, it was a cab ride to Central Park. I planned for us to go to Central Park, Rockefeller Center and also see the Christmas storefronts before the gala.

The minute we exited the cab, she was spellbound by the magic around her. The crisp air, the light dusting of snow, and the general cheer being expressed around us reflected in the joy on her face. It was a perfect gift … for me. I had been given everything I’d ever wanted. Her gift to me, that beautiful song, which I planned to record as soon as we got back to Los Angeles, was an answer to a prayer. I wanted to give her something with at least a fraction of as much magic. Seeing the joy on her face told me I had accomplished my mission.

“I can’t believe this is real. I mean you see it on the internet and in movies and stuff, but look at it all Sage, it’s so … wonderful.” She was like a little girl, taking in the amazing sights.

“I thought you’d love this. I considered buying you tickets to Paris, but when you told me you got the gig with Mizironic I figured you’d be too busy for such a big trip. We’ll go there soon, but New York was my second choice. I’m so glad you like it.” I was totally sincere. I didn’t want her being disappointed since her gift was so personal and heartfelt.

  “This is perfect,” she gushed.

We spent the rest of the day ice skating, eating pizza, and walking around New York. After a nice afternoon, we went back to the hotel to get ready to go to the Met. It was a charity performance of Puccini’s La Boehme and we had box seats. My parents were longtime patrons and benefactors of the Met, so we were always invited to the Galas. I just asked my brothers if they wanted Mom and Dad’s tickets and both said “no” immediately. Mom and Dad hadn’t been to the opera in years, so I knew it was okay to take their seats. I dressed rather quickly into a tuxedo and waited for Melody to emerge out of the bathroom. I expected to wait for hours, but she didn’t take much time at all.

When Melody walked out of the bathroom, she had her purple hair pulled up into a beautiful bun. She was wearing her stunning dress, and I melted. Her face was lightly made up, and she glowed with love and happiness. She was, without question, the most beautiful woman I’d ever laid eyes on. Knowing too that she was an incredible musician and lover, made the package perfect.

“This dress is so insane, thank you, Sage. It’s so much more than I’d ever even dreamed of. I feel like Cinderella.” There were tears welling in her eyes, and my heart blew up.

“No, baby, it’s you, wearing the dress who is beautiful,” I gushed.

I couldn’t wait to get to the theater and show off the incredible person I w
as dating. She was miraculous. I couldn’t help thinking the staff of the hotel was staring at her with the same admiration I was. She turned heads as she walked through the hall, and I let them stare because truly, she was divine. One of the best things about this moment was that she had no clue how ridiculously amazing she was … and that made me love her more.

We took our seats, and shortly after the opera began, I knew Melody was a little worried about the highbrow nature of opera. Even though she was a musician, she’d never been to the theater before. She worried she might not understand it, so she spent every minute of the time we were seated before the opera began to study the program and memorize the plot. As soon as she’d read through the whole thing she instantly understood it on a cellular level.

“They are all starving artists!” she proclaimed after her extensive reading. “And they’re dying because society, doesn’t respect them, doesn’t pay for their art.” She seemed moved just by the synopsis.

“It’s a little more than that,” I added. “It’s also a love story about … um, about a relationship that is doomed,” I said quietly. “It’s kind of like the Ever After song you gave me … what is ever after? Is it love ever after … or memory?”

“Or a legend … as this tale is timeless.” She stared at me with such knowledge in her eyes.

  Chapter 14

  Melody

The trip to New York was absolutely spectacular. What a complete and utter surprise. I loved Sage’s spontaneity. It was a total dream weekend. I hardly wanted to come home except another wonderful moment in my life was about to unfold.

Back in Los Angeles, Sage and I tried to see each other, but since I was getting ready for the Mizironic show in just two days, I was busy. We barely had time for a quick dinner, a roll in the sheets, sleep, and then get up to our blurs of work. He was in a hurry to rush Ever After into production. He and his band were working on their interpretation of the song, and he was thrilled with the way everything was coming together. I was riding on my own high about to have the first professional gig of my career. We were both careening. I wouldn’t say we were going up exactly, but we were moving at the speed of light.

The three days passed quickly. I was ready for my New Year’s Eve show. It was just going to be me on stage singing and Mizironic’s band playing their two songs. I was ready … more than ready and excited. Everyone who could get tickets came. Sage, of course, who bought his, then Sinclair, Reyna, and Charlynn got complimentary tickets. Some of my other music friends were able to get the last few tickets available before the performance sold out.

I stood in the wings, smelling stale beer and sweat; I couldn’t remember a moment when I was so electrified.

“You are gonna kill it,” Mizironic said as she gave me a big bear hug. “I love what you’ve done with my stuff; you’re so soulful and sexy. In just a few moments the world is gonna know.” She gave me a little kiss on the cheek and that was it.

There were two bands before me, each singing two songs. I’d be the one to play just before Mizironic took the stage. I thought I’d be nervous, but I wasn’t. This was where I belonged. When it was time for me to go on, I just stepped into the spotlight with my guitar and sang the shit out of the two Mizironic songs. I gave them passion, heat, and love.

By the time I finished singing, I didn’t even know I’d started; I was that lost in the magic of the music. I couldn’t see the audience that well, but as I stood up to leave the stage, I saw the crowd going wild. I was lucky I made it off the stage without tripping over myself, I was just floating on the clouds. As I entered the wings, Mizironic smiled at me.

“You fucking brought the house down, babe!” She threw me a thumbs up, and I blew her a kiss as she walked out on stage.

“Hello, Hollywood! Happy New Year!” she yelled, and the crowd went even more insane. “How was that Melody? Eh … heaven! What a beautiful way to bring in a new year.” The crowd responded with cheers and screams.

It was the brightest and most proud moment I’d ever experienced. I kind of wished I had a family to share it with, but they were mostly gone. My mom died when I was eight. She was the one to name me Melody and encouraged me to sing. I loved her, even though all I remember of her is her sweet voice and her loving ways. I wasn’t sure what happened to her exactly, but she was sick for a really long time. When she died, it was just me and my dad. He remarried a few years later and started a new family. I always felt like an outsider in their home, so I didn’t want to move to Kentucky with them.

The courts arranged for me to live with my grandparents. Eventually, my father and I just stopped speaking. My grandparents were quite old and both of them died just as I finished my senior year of high school. At the time I felt like I didn’t have a soul in the world. I got a small inheritance, enough to afford college. There I met Reyna and Charlynn. The girls were a godsend to me.

Knowing Reyna, Charlynn, and the crew was out there in the audience tonight made me so happy. Of course having Sage out there too, was good on a whole different level. Despite how wonderful it was having all of those people in my life, I did wish I had blood family to share the moment with. I guess Mom’s spirit was there … maybe she had always been there.

At midnight we rang in the New Year. Mizironic did a countdown and sang “I’m all About the New” which was one of her songs from way back, but the words still resonated. She sang her heart out and I just stood backstage and watched her. She was amazing, and I envisioned what it would be like to be her, even for one day. While I wasn’t sure if the rock star was going to be my thing, I loved the energy playing live gave me. I so wanted a family and kids … but I wanted this too. When the show was over the new year was already an hour old.

“You … I fucking LOVE YOU!” Sage shouted when the show finished and they let the special pass holders backstage.

“Mel … you were … oh my God, I want to cry.” Reyna’s arms wrapped around my neck, and she hugged me so hard I thought I might choke.

  “You were brilliant!” Sinclair grinned.

“Fucking amazing balls, Melly!” Charlynn slapped my back.

“Let’s go out and celebrate,” Sinclair said.

While I was about to topple over with exhaustion, I agreed. We needed to memorialize this moment. As we were leaving, Mizironic caught up with me walking with my peeps out the door.

“Listen, we’re heading out after this for a month or so, but when I get back into LA, I wanna record a duet with you, K! Think of something, and I’ll put my mind on it too.” She smiled and was being grabbed and pulled by people.

“You bet,” I was able to get out before she was dragged away.

“Girl, you are going to blow up! You better still be my babe when you do,” Sage said, claiming me with his arm.

He was being cool, but also a bit weird. He was being the rocker guy, the guy with the cool rocker chic girlfriend … if that’s what you would call me, I didn’t even know. It felt like he was insecure, or perhaps he’d been drinking. I didn’t care. I wasn’t going to let it tarnish my night, but it was something that tickled … well, actually kind scratched, with dagger-like nails, the back of my brain.

We went to the Standard downtown; they had a rooftop bar and we drank and sang and talked all night. The place was packed, but Sinclair and Reyna were Hollywood royalty, so they got us into a VIP booth away from the drunk, New Year’s reveling crowd. It felt amazing basking in the afterglow of such a successful night. Ringing in the New Year with the people I loved most was perfect, and the evening was so much fun until I was completely exhausted and couldn’t keep my eyes open. Reyna was feeling the same exhausted vibe as she and I were almost sleeping on one another in our booth.

“Better get this little Momma Filmmaker home, she’s baked.” Sinclair stood up and cuddled Reyna into his arms. “I’ve already paid the bill. Happy New Year, family!”

“Thank you for a fun night out, Sin. Happy New Year.” I gave him a sleepy thumbs up. “I love you.”<

He winked at me and walked Reyna through the restaurant. I didn’t want to say I was jealous, because I absolutely wasn’t, but Sinclair was the perfect husband. He was cool and fun and treated Reyna like a queen. Men shouldn’t always lavish women, and I knew Reyna did her fair share of amazing things for Sinclair, but watching their love … ah, it was something I really wanted.

“So, you wanna go someplace else or are you ready to hit it?” Sage asked as he looked at me.

I could barely see him through my sleep-dazed eyes, and I was worried about what he meant by ‘hit it.’ I certainly hoped we weren’t going to rough and tumble tonight. All I wanted to do was sleep … and that’s what I said.

“Sleep. You just wanna sleep.” He seemed disappointed.

“Yeah, you should get her home, Sage. She’s looking really beat,” Charlynn added not looking much more awake than I was.

“You need a ride home, Char?” Sage asked. He was sweet; I had to remember that.

“No, I’m good. I got my Uber coming in two minutes and then I’m hitting the sheets. I can assume my roommate is not coming home again?” She gave him a questioning glare; it was playful, but also no-nonsense.

“I promise I’ll give her back to you one day.” Sage sheepishly shrugged.

“Maybe she doesn’t want you to.”

He let her remark just fall on the table, and that was fine with me.

Sage’s house was within walking distance of the bar, so we walked to his place and I barely made it to his bed, out of my clothes, and onto the pillow. I fell asleep just as I felt the bed dip, and he cuddled in beside me. There were sensuous kisses, but I wasn’t opening my eyes for anything.

In the morning I awoke to the bright glaring sun in my face.

“Hey, sleepyhead. I have orange juice, toast, and eggs for you. You should hurry up and eat before it’s lunchtime.” Sage sat a tray of breakfast in my lap as I bolted upright.
